Where We Stand
Issues and
Positions
Our positions on the issues that define conservative governance in Tennessee and across America.
Core Value
Constitutional Government
The Constitution is not a suggestion. Every law, regulation, and government action must be grounded in its text.
Why It Matters
The U.S. and Tennessee Constitutions are frameworks of limited government designed to protect citizens from overreach. When government acts outside those boundaries, it breaks faith with the people it serves. Red Tennessee PAC believes every law passed, every regulation issued, and every dollar spent must have a clear constitutional basis.
We support candidates who take that obligation seriously and will push back against executive overreach, regulatory expansion, and judicial activism at every opportunity.
Our Positions
Oppose federal and state regulatory expansion that exceeds constitutional authority
Support judicial nominees who apply the Constitution as written, not as wished
Oppose mandates and emergency powers used to bypass the legislative process
Support returning power to state and local governments per the Tenth Amendment
Defend the separation of powers against consolidation in any single branch
Core Value
Fiscal Responsibility
Balanced budgets, reduced waste, and a government that lives within its means are not optional.
Why It Matters
Tennessee's balanced-budget requirement has made the state a model for responsible governance. Fiscal conservatism is a moral obligation to future generations who will inherit whatever debt we leave behind.
At the federal level, runaway spending and deficit financing threaten to undermine the dollar, crowd out private investment, and saddle American children with obligations they never voted for.
Our Positions
Support balanced budgets at both the state and federal levels
Oppose new government programs without sustainable funding mechanisms
Support sunset provisions and performance reviews of existing expenditures
Oppose tax increases as a substitute for spending discipline
Support returning surplus revenues to taxpayers rather than growing government
Oppose earmarks and pork-barrel spending that bypass normal appropriations scrutiny
Core Value
Individual Liberty
Government exists to protect freedom, not restrict it. Every Tennessean has the right to live and work without unnecessary interference.
Why It Matters
The founding premise of the American republic is that rights belong to individuals, not to the government. Over decades, the expansion of the regulatory state, the growth of surveillance programs, and the normalization of government mandates have eroded the sphere of individual freedom in ways the founders would not recognize.
Red Tennessee PAC supports candidates who believe that Tennesseans are capable of making their own decisions about how to live, what to buy, where to worship, and how to raise their children, without a government official's permission at every turn.
Our Positions
Oppose government mandates on personal medical decisions, including vaccine requirements for employment or public access
Support religious liberty protections for individuals, businesses, and institutions of faith
Oppose surveillance programs that collect data on law-abiding citizens without probable cause
Support the right to operate a private business without government compulsion regarding speech or association
Oppose onerous occupational licensing requirements that serve as barriers to entry rather than genuine consumer protections
Core Value
Second Amendment
The right to keep and bear arms is not negotiable. We oppose any effort to erode lawful gun ownership in Tennessee or nationwide.
Why It Matters
The Second Amendment is not about hunting or sport shooting. It is about the fundamental right of free citizens to defend themselves, their families, and their communities from threats of all kinds, including the threat of tyrannical government. Tennessee has a strong tradition of responsible firearm ownership, and we intend to protect it.
We oppose any effort, whether federal or state, to erode the Second Amendment through red flag laws that deny due process, bans on commonly owned firearms, or universal background check mandates that create de facto gun registries.
Our Positions
Oppose federal and state red flag laws that allow firearm seizure without due process
Oppose bans or restrictions on commonly owned semi-automatic firearms and standard-capacity magazines
Support constitutional carry and shall-issue concealed carry policies
Oppose universal background check mandates that create de facto gun registries
Support Tennessee's authority to resist federal firearm overreach through state-level Second Amendment protection statutes
Core Value
Election Integrity
Free and fair elections are the foundation of self-government. We support secure elections, voter ID, accurate rolls, and full transparency.
Why It Matters
If citizens cannot trust that their votes are counted accurately and elections are administered fairly, the entire premise of representative government collapses. Every fraudulent vote cast dilutes the legitimate votes of every honest citizen.
Tennessee has taken important steps to secure its elections, including voter ID requirements and restrictions on mass mail-in voting. Red Tennessee PAC supports continued vigilance and opposes federal efforts to override state election laws with measures that would undermine ballot security.
Our Positions
Support photo voter ID requirements for all in-person and absentee voting
Support regular maintenance and accuracy review of voter rolls
Oppose no-excuse absentee voting and mass mail-in ballot programs
Support transparent chain-of-custody procedures for all ballots
Oppose federal legislation that would preempt Tennessee election law
Support hand-count verification options and robust post-election audit procedures
Core Value
Economic Freedom
Tennessee's prosperity depends on free markets, low taxes, and a regulatory environment that lets businesses and workers thrive.
Why It Matters
Tennessee is one of the most economically competitive states in America. No state income tax, a relatively lean regulatory environment, and a pro-business culture have made Tennessee a destination for businesses, workers, and investment fleeing high-tax, high-regulation states. Red Tennessee PAC believes those advantages must be defended and extended, not traded away for short-term political gain.
Economic freedom is not a benefit for the wealthy. It is the mechanism by which ordinary people build ordinary lives without needing permission from bureaucrats or bailouts from politicians.
Our Positions
Oppose any effort to impose a state income tax on Tennessee residents or businesses
Support reducing the regulatory burden on small businesses across all sectors
Oppose minimum wage mandates that override market-determined wages
Support right-to-work protections for Tennessee employees
Oppose ESG mandates and politically motivated investment requirements on private businesses
Support reducing the federal corporate tax rate and opposing tax increases that harm Tennessee employers
Core Value
Public Safety
We stand with law enforcement and support the resources our officers need to keep Tennessee communities safe.
Why It Matters
The first obligation of government at any level is to protect its citizens. Safe streets, safe schools, and safe communities are not conservative luxuries. They are baseline requirements for a functioning society and a prerequisite for economic opportunity. When public safety breaks down, it is always the most vulnerable citizens who suffer first and most.
Red Tennessee PAC unequivocally supports law enforcement and opposes the soft-on-crime policies that have driven crime surges in cities across America.
Our Positions
Oppose defunding, disbanding, or restructuring local law enforcement in ways that reduce capacity
Support qualified immunity protections for law enforcement officers acting in good faith
Support truth-in-sentencing and mandatory minimum laws for violent and repeat offenders
Oppose cash bail elimination and policies that result in the early release of dangerous individuals
Support mental health and substance abuse intervention programs that work alongside law enforcement
Support border security as a direct public safety issue for Tennessee communities
Core Value
Parental Rights
Parents, not the government or school boards, are the primary decision-makers in their children's education and upbringing.
Why It Matters
The relationship between parent and child is among the most fundamental and protected in law and human experience. In recent years, schools, courts, and government agencies across the country have asserted authority over children that properly belongs to their parents, including decisions about gender, medical treatment, and age-appropriate curriculum content.
Red Tennessee PAC supports a robust legal framework for parental rights in Tennessee and opposes any government action that treats parents as obstacles rather than primary caregivers and decision-makers.
Our Positions
Support legislation codifying parental rights to direct the upbringing and education of their children
Oppose school curricula that include age-inappropriate content without parental notification and consent
Oppose policies that allow schools to withhold information from parents regarding their child's situation
Support school choice so parents can remove children from schools that do not reflect family values
Oppose government interference in parents' decisions regarding their children's medical care
Core Value
Education
Tennessee's children deserve a world-class education built on academic excellence, not ideological agendas.
Why It Matters
Too many students are graduating without basic literacy and numeracy skills. Too many classrooms have been captured by ideology rather than dedicated to instruction. And too many parents have no meaningful alternative when their assigned school is failing their child.
Red Tennessee PAC supports an education system that prioritizes academic rigor, parental choice, teacher accountability, and the transmission of the American civic tradition. We oppose the use of public schools as platforms for political indoctrination.
Our Positions
Support education savings accounts (ESAs) and school voucher programs that empower parents to choose the best school for their child
Oppose the teaching of Critical Race Theory and gender ideology in K-12 classrooms
Support teacher merit pay, alternative certification pathways, and accountability for school performance
Support a return to phonics-based reading instruction and evidence-based math curricula
Support civic education grounded in the founding documents, American history, and constitutional principles
Oppose federal overreach into state and local education decisions
Core Value
Immigration
A sovereign nation enforces its laws. Secure borders and legal immigration are non-negotiable.
Why It Matters
The United States has the most generous legal immigration system in the world. It also has laws governing how that system operates. For years, those laws have been selectively enforced, administratively gutted, and politically exploited. The result is a broken border, communities flooded with fentanyl, and a public safety crisis that extends deep into Tennessee.
This is not about hostility to immigrants. It is about the basic sovereign obligation to control who enters the country and on what terms.
Our Positions
Support completion and maintenance of physical border barriers along the southern border
Oppose sanctuary city and county policies that obstruct federal immigration enforcement
Support mandatory E-Verify for all Tennessee employers
Oppose taxpayer-funded benefits and in-state tuition for individuals present illegally
Support ending catch-and-release and reforming the asylum system to prevent abuse
Support increased penalties for fentanyl trafficking, which crosses the border in quantities that kill Tennesseans every day
Core Value
Healthcare Freedom
Patients, not bureaucrats, should make medical decisions. We oppose government-run healthcare and support patient-centered, market-driven solutions.
Why It Matters
Healthcare is one of the most personal decisions a citizen makes, and it is one where the track record of government intervention is consistently poor. The Affordable Care Act increased premiums, reduced choices, and drove providers out of rural markets across Tennessee. The push for single-payer, government-run healthcare would eliminate private options entirely and place life-and-death decisions in the hands of administrators and bureaucrats.
Red Tennessee PAC believes in healthcare freedom: the right of patients to choose their doctors, their plans, and their treatments without government interference.
Our Positions
Oppose any form of single-payer, government-run healthcare at the federal or state level
Support repeal or significant reform of the Affordable Care Act's mandates and regulations
Support healthcare price transparency requirements so patients can make informed decisions
Support expanding access to Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) and direct primary care arrangements
Oppose government vaccine mandates and medical coercion of any kind
Support expanding rural healthcare access through telehealth and certificate-of-need reform
Core Value
Energy and Environment
American energy dominance means affordable power, good jobs, and national security. We oppose the radical green agenda that threatens all three.
Why It Matters
Affordable, reliable energy is not a luxury. It is a foundation of the American economy and a direct contributor to the quality of life of every Tennessee family. Regulatory assaults on fossil fuels drive up gasoline prices, increase utility bills, and threaten American energy independence.
Tennessee benefits from TVA-supplied hydroelectric power, natural gas, and a growing nuclear sector. We support policies that keep electricity rates low, maintain grid reliability, and allow the private energy market to function without politically driven mandates.
Our Positions
Support domestic energy production, including natural gas, oil, coal, and nuclear power
Oppose federal regulations that effectively ban or price out fossil fuel energy without viable, affordable alternatives
Support nuclear energy development as a clean, reliable, baseload power source
Oppose EV mandates, appliance bans, and forced electrification of the economy on government timelines
Support withdrawal from or reform of international climate agreements that impose costs on American workers without equivalent obligations on China and other major emitters
Support Tennessee's authority to set its own energy policy consistent with TVA's mission
Core Value
Veterans and Military
Those who served deserve a government that keeps its promises. We support a strong military, quality veteran care, and zero tolerance for bureaucratic failure.
Why It Matters
Tennessee is home to one of the largest veteran populations in the Southeast. The men and women who served this country kept commitments that most Americans will never be asked to make. The government that sent them into harm's way owes them, at minimum, the healthcare, benefits, and respect they were promised when they signed on.
Red Tennessee PAC supports a strong national defense and a VA system that actually works. We oppose the politicization of the military through social engineering mandates and support restoring the military's singular focus on warfighting readiness.
Our Positions
Support robust funding for VA healthcare, with real accountability for performance and patient outcomes
Support veteran choice programs that allow veterans to access private healthcare when VA services fall short
Oppose the use of the military as a platform for social experimentation, including DEI mandates and critical race theory training
Support maintaining military readiness as the primary criterion for all personnel, training, and equipment decisions
Support full funding of the defense budget to maintain American military superiority against adversaries including China, Russia, and Iran
Support mental health and suicide prevention programs specifically designed for veteran populations
Core Value
Infrastructure and Transportation
Tennessee needs roads, bridges, and broadband that work, built on time and on budget, without Washington's mandate strings attached.
Why It Matters
Geography, economy, and growth make transportation infrastructure a genuine conservative priority. The region's mountain corridors, industrial corridors, and rural communities all depend on reliable roads, bridges, and logistics networks.
Federal infrastructure spending has increasingly become a vehicle for green energy mandates, union labor requirements, and politically directed grants that shortchange rural communities in favor of urban transit projects. Red Tennessee PAC supports infrastructure investment that is practical, needs-based, and fiscally disciplined.
Our Positions
Support prioritizing road and bridge maintenance and expansion in rural and suburban Tennessee
Oppose federal infrastructure funding tied to climate mandates, EV charging quotas, or DEI contracting requirements
Support rural broadband expansion as a genuine economic development priority
Support project labor agreement reforms that open public construction to all qualified contractors
Support state control over infrastructure priority-setting, with federal funding flowing to state-determined needs
Oppose diverting highway trust fund revenues to urban transit projects that serve a small fraction of Tennessee's population
Core Value
Agriculture and Rural Tennessee
Rural Tennessee is not just a geography. It is a way of life worth defending. We stand with farmers, landowners, and rural communities.
Why It Matters
Tennessee's agricultural heritage is not a museum piece. It is a living, working part of the state's economy and identity. That way of life is increasingly threatened by regulatory overreach, foreign land acquisition, and federal agricultural policies designed for industrial operations that bear little resemblance to Tennessee's family farms.
Red Tennessee PAC believes that rural communities deserve representatives who understand their challenges year-round, not just politicians who show up at county fairs before an election.
Our Positions
Support strong property rights protections, including opposition to regulatory takings and eminent domain abuse
Oppose foreign acquisition of American agricultural land, including purchases by entities tied to China and other adversarial nations
Support reducing the regulatory burden on small and family-owned farming operations
Oppose EPA and Army Corps of Engineers overreach into private land and water use decisions
Support rural broadband, road infrastructure, and healthcare access as essential to keeping rural communities viable
Support Tennessee's right-to-farm laws and oppose efforts to use nuisance litigation to shut down agricultural operations
